What is Starfish Fantasy Sports?

Starfish Fantasy Sports is fantasy sports with a purpose. Fantasy sports are a great way to enjoy sports at a deeper level, compete with others, and overall just love the game in a different way. What if there was a way to not only enjoy sports in this way, but make a difference while doing it? Starfish Fantasy Sports Leagues do exactly that.

Starfish Fantasy Sports Leagues are structured with winners in mind. If you take the top spot, you double your entry. You don’t win your league? Well, at least you had fun and your money is going to those in need instead of lining some executive’s pocket. All profits from our leagues go directly to causes making an impact.

Check back on the website or keep an eye out in your inbox for stories of how your buy-ins are impacting others. Have a recommendation for a cause you’re passionate about and have seen their impact first hand? We’d love to hear about them. Shoot us a contact message or DM our IG page.

What’s with the starfish?

There’s a popular story that has meant a lot to this endeavor where a child is on the beach tossing starfish back in the water. A cynic on the beach ridicules him, saying he’ll never make a difference because there are so many starfish on the beach. Without missing a beat, the child replies by picking up another starfish and chucking it into the ocean. “It made a difference to that one.”

That’s the philosophy here at Starfish Fantasy Sports. We use something we love (sports and fantasy sports) and leverage that into making a difference SOMEWHERE. Which is always better than NOWHERE. Sure, it’s easy to get overwhelmed and cynical with all the giant problems our world has. But, when a child beats cancer, or a young athlete gets to go to camp when they otherwise couldn’t afford it, or girls are supported in their sports endeavors, a veteran gets a chance to see their favorite team play in person, or foster kids get to attend camp, then we celebrate, “we made a difference to that one.”
